Core Principles

The Kumon Math curriculum progressively introduces and reinforces fundamental concepts needed by students to excel in advanced math. The program is designed to build computational skills used in all numerical operations, build mental dexterity and mathematical reasoning as well as instill self-learning concepts. Kumon is a rigorous math program that can help struggling students become proficient at math or challenge students looking for enrichment opportunities.

The program is worksheet based, individualized to each student and self-paced to the degree of effort the student puts out.

Importance of Studying Advanced Math for All Students

Students who study advanced mathematical concepts (Algebra II and higher) are better prepared for the rigors of university study no matter their chosen field of study. All students can be successful in math.

Studying and being proficient in math helps students:

              *Build concentration
*Develop analytical and problem solving skills
              *Instill mental discipline
              *Build logical arguments
*Develop abstract and higher level thinking skills
              *Increase their perceived academic self-worth

              Honor Roll and Program Completion

Kumon recognizes the achievement of all students studying six months or more ahead of grade level every quarter (March, June, September and December). Something magical happens to students at this point in their studies, concentration and focus improve, a sense of accomplishment becomes evident and they typically go into "Kumon autopilot".

There are 21 levels in the math program (Pre-school to High School). After each concept in a level is mastered, an achievement test is administered and the next level is started.
